SEPTEMBER: DANCEworks tenth anniversary celebration presents doug elkins choreography, etc. and DANCEworks alum Aszure Barton, Brian Brooks, Larry Keigwin, Mark Dendy, Adam Barruch, Shannon Gillen, Kate Weare and Doug Varone performing or presenting solos on September 7 & 8. The SBCC Foundation presents a special benefit concert featuring Michael McDonald alongside the amazing talents of SBCC Music students and faculty on October 10. SBCC’s award-winning Lunch Break Jazz Band, directed by Jim Mooy, will present an exciting set of contemporary Big Band Jazz. The SBCC New World Jazz Ensemble, directed by Tony Ybarra, will accompany Michael McDonald in a tribute to Steely Dan’s classic album Aja, along with other songs from his illustrious career. The concert will also feature Tess Erskine, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter and powerful vocalist who attended and developed her musical abilities at SBCC.
