Breakout singer, songwriter and performer Jade Bird has confirmed U.S. shows supporting Hozier next March. See below for more details. The newly announced dates follow a hugely successful debut U.S. headline tour, dates with Brandi Carlile, First Aid Kit, Anderson East and Colter Wall as well as festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Stagecoach, Firefly, Mountain Jam, Bumbershoot, Grandoozy, Pilgrimage and more.
The tour anticipates Jade’s debut full-length—the follow up to the much lauded Something American EP—due for release early next year on Glassnote Records. The album will feature Jade’s latest track “Love Has All Been Done Before,” her current single “Uh Huh,” as well as “Lottery”(which spent three weeks at #1 on Triple A Radio—the first new artist to reach the top of the Triple A chart in 2018) and “Furious”.
In anticipation of the new LP, Jade has already been featured amongst YouTube’s U.K. Ones To Watch for 2019, Vevo’s DSCVR Artists to Watch for 2019, and Pandora’s Artists to Watch for 2019.
The forthcoming LP will culminate a breakthrough year for Jade who won the Anchor Award for most promising international emerging talent at Reeperbahn Festival, the 2018 Grulke Prize for developing non-U.S. act at SXSW and was selected for the BBC Sound of 2018. Jade made her national television debut on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” followed by a standout performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” She was featured as a Rolling StoneArtist You Need To Know,” selected as one of PAPER’s “100 Women Revolutionizing Pop” and most recently, Jade was featured in the Top 10 of NPR Music’s “Slingshot’s Best New Artist Of 2018.”
Jade Bird continues to receive widespread critical acclaim:

“With multifaceted potential, there’s no telling where this Bird will land.”
ARTIST YOU NEED TO KNOW
“That propensity to express herself translates into her story-driven songs, which veer between Americana, Punk and soulful indie pop.”

“…with a country-rock stream and a furious rasp when she gets riled…”

“Songwriting is paramount to her artistic practice, and she’s got a keenly self-aware, razor-sharp sense of humor.”

“She possesses a crystalline soprano so pure that it calls to mind bubbling spring water and untouched snowfall.”

“England’s Jade Bird Found the Truth in Southern Feminism.”

“…channeling the storytelling of Americana-country godmothers like she sold her cold tea-sipping English soul to the devil for some of distilled Loretta Lynn essence. However, despite obvious comparisons to country queens, she’s got that dry-as-hell humor and animal-cry growl of heartbreak, which can boil up to explosion and back down to a sweet whisper in one chorus…which places her firmly in the lineage of power-chord wielding solo female icons like Alanis Morissette, Liz Phair, Fiona Apple and more.”

BEST OF 2018 (SO FAR)
“Bird sings wistfully, connecting romantic ideals to the ethos of the American dream.”

“Jade Bird is serious about being a feminist role model.”

“Her voice is almost impossible to place, sometimes affected like First Aid Kit, irreverent like Courtney Barnett, and punky like Courtney Love. But the lasting impression is of a songwriter that demands attention.”
